The City of Miami District II office, along with Capital Improvements Department and the Coconut Grove Business Improvement District are pleased to announce the Rice St. lighting improvements project have begun as of February 29, 2012. There will be a total of five metal halide light fixtures installed along Rice St. from Florida Ave. to Oak Ave.; replacing the current 100 W fiberglass fixtures currently on site.
This lighting improvement will unify and complement the upcoming lighting improvements on Florida Ave., Mary St., Virginia St. and Oak Ave. scheduled within the next coming weeks. This is the first time in the history of Coconut Grove that street lamps within the entire Business Improvement District will have a uniform look.
