Out of Africa: Art ReceptionJuly 5, 2014 | Jack
On Saturday, July 5, from 7-10 p.m., Out of Africa is thrilled to present the lusciously colorful works of Grove artist Karen Deilke in their Mayfair store.
Karen Deilke is the featured artist of the show. She works in acrylic on canvas and loves to paint in vibrant colors and metallics. Her work has appeared in many shows and galleries and has won numerous prestigious awards. Ms. Deilke was the first Gifford Lane Art Stroll poster artist and is currently represented by the Boswell-Mourot Gallery in the Grove. On first Saturdays of the month, such as May 3rd, Karen hosts the highly regarded Coconut Grove Drum Circle. See the art, hear the music!
Also being presented in the Out of Africa show are Grove artists Michael Tames, Peg McCue, Julia Polonyi, Margrit Rose People, and Trina Collins (the owner of Out of Africa and the founder of the Gifford Lane Art Stroll).
Michael Tames is known for his exotic assemblages which feature Van Gogh and Frida Kahlo. Peg McCue’s pieces are minimalist pen and ink drawings with a whimsical flair. Artist Julia Polonyi will be showing her ceramic mask creations and jewelry. Margrit Rose-People’s pieces include authentic African paintings and hand-crafted greeting cards.
The art of Trina Collins is noted for her paintings of nuanced female nudes.
Please come enjoy the refreshing art and join us for a glass of wine.
