Where is Coconut Grove?
Coconut Grove is an historic residential community within the city of Miami located along the Biscayne Bay coast southwest of downtown Miami. It is generally defined as the area south of South Dixie Highway (US 1) to the bay front between the Rickenbacker Causeway and LeJeune Road (SW 42nd Avenue). The Village Center is just minutes south of US 1 via SW 27th Avenue or SW 32nd Avenue (McDonald Street).

What happened to the "a" in cocoanut?
Cocoanut Grove was established in 1873, the first municipality in Miami-Dade County, pre-dating incorporation of the City of Miami in 1896. The resulting village history is a rich tapestry of colorful characters and notable events. The "a" was dropped when the village was "annexed" by the City of Miami in a controversial vote during 1920s.

Where's the beach?
Coconut Grove has never really had a beach. What it does have are lush green streets, quiet walkways, waterfront parks, a vibrant marine community and an exciting Village Center packed with delectable eateries, great shopping and decidedly lively nightlife. For the first time in history we are currently developing a lovely small beach on one of the little islands just off the shore of Coconut Grove.

What's there to see and do?
Start in the Village Center as a good place to get your bearings and convenient to most everything else. Stroll brick sidewalks along our diverse collection of shops and cafes, walk through Peacock Park to the bay front board walk. Rent a bike to explore our back streets or a sailboat to cruise the bay. Visit an historic park or a fabled mansion. Come back into the Village Center for a nighttime of revelry and entertainment. We have more to see and do than you have time, good reason to come again.

Where do I park?
Because the Village Center is both popular and compact, parking is available both on-street and in several convenient off-street facilities with quite substantial capacity. Details at https://www.miamiparking.com/mcv2.asp?cat=20040526002001.

Where do I eat?
Approximately fifty eateries ranging from sandwich shops to fine dining are clustered within the few blocks of the intersection of Grand Avenue and McFarlane Road. Given the array of choices, the question is not "where" but "what". Ah, the choices of it all.

Where are the restrooms?
Public restrooms are available at the rear of the CocoWalk courtyard, as well as next to the Security Kiosk at the Shoppes of Mayfair. There are, of course, private facilities in the restaurants and bars.
