2015 – 2016 Special Event Grant Application

The 2014-2015 Coconut Grove BID Event Grant Program demonstrates the Coconut Grove BID’s commitment to investing generated funds in support of Coconut Grove events and programs for the purpose of creating social and economic vitality, retail business activity and fostering a positive image for the district.

For the 2014-2015 season, the Coconut Grove BID and the Marketing Committee has approved a budget of $12,079.00 for grant funding. Based on qualified applications, the Coconut Grove BID may award grants that range from $1,000 to $10,000. Monies available for grants come from the Coconut Grove BID’s Marketing Committee budget. Grant applications are reviewed and evaluated by the Coconut Grove BID’s Marketing Committee on an annual basis. Please note that special event grants are given out at a maximum for (3) continuous years before discontinuation; grants decrease 30% in year (2) and 60% in year (3) of initial grant total.


  • Coconut Grove BID grants are given only to those events that are held within the BID District boundaries, unless there is a proven reason that the BID will benefit from an event held outside the District boundaries
  • Coconut Grove BID grants are awarded to nonprofit organizations only.

Grant applicants must submit a completed application a minimum of at least 120 days prior to the event or program date to be considered. In addition to submitting a completed application, selected applicants must prepare a brief oral presentation to be delivered to the BID’s Marketing Committee for approval on the assigned meeting date. Available dates, times, and locations will be scheduled in advance.
